Halo Days

Countdowns and days-since for iPhone

Halo Days is a free iPhone app that counts down to the days that matter — exams, trips, birthdays, weddings — and counts up from the ones you want to remember. Every day glows on your Home Screen and Lock Screen with a halo that fills as the day gets closer.

Counting

How does Halo Days count?

Counts change at midnight on your iPhone, wherever you are. A countdown shows the days left (D-12), “Today” on the day, and the days since afterwards. You can show the count in days, weeks, months or years-months-days.

Is the first day Day 1 or Day 0?

Your choice. For “days since” (relationships, a new habit, a baby's age) turn on Count the first day as Day 1, as couples usually do. The preview shows the number before you save, so there are no surprises.

Can it skip weekends?

Yes. Turn on Workdays only for a countdown and Halo Days counts Monday to Friday.

Birthdays and anniversaries that repeat?

Choose Every year, Every month or Every week. A birthday on February 29 is counted on February 28 in other years.

Widgets and reminders

Are the widgets free?

Yes, all of them: small, medium and large Home Screen widgets and the Lock Screen widgets. Touch and hold your Home Screen, tap Edit → Add Widget, and choose Halo Days. Touch and hold a widget to pick which day it shows.

Will my widget show the right number tomorrow?

Yes. Widgets work the count out from the date at every midnight, so they stay right even if you don't open the app.

What reminders can I get?

On the day, 1, 3 or 7 days before, every 100 days and every anniversary, at a time you choose. You can turn each one off per day, or all reminders in Settings.

Countdown Plan and Time Capsule

What is the Countdown Plan?

Add the steps you need before a day — chapters to study, things to pack. Halo Days spreads them over the days left and shows today's step on the card and the medium widget.

What is a Time Capsule?

A note to your future self, with photos, that stays sealed until the day arrives (or, for days since, the next milestone). You get a reminder when it's ready to open.

Your data, ads and Premium

Do I need an account?

No. Your days are saved on your iPhone and backed up to your own iCloud automatically. Photos stay on your iPhone. You can also export a backup file from Settings.

When do ads appear?

A small banner sits at the bottom of the Days list. Occasionally a full-screen ad may appear right after you save a day — never when you open the app, and never in your first day of use. Videos are always optional; they unlock sparkle themes for a day or extra photos in a capsule.

What is Halo Premium?

A one-time purchase, not a subscription. It removes all ads and unlocks every theme and five photos per capsule. Counting, widgets, reminders and backup are free for everyone. Restore it on a new phone from Settings → Halo Premium.

How do I change my privacy choices?

Where required by law, go to Settings → Privacy choices in the app. To change tracking permission, use iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Read the full privacy policy.
